Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure that all children and young people in Ireland who have lost a sibling can access support regardless of location or personal circumstances.
Our Focus and Scope
Jacintas Smile is an organisation in its infancy. We try to offer as much support as we can to those that are struggling after having lost a sibling. However, we do have limitations. We would like to let you know that this organisations provides support only to this that have lost a sibling above the age of 12 months. This decision was not taken lightly yet was decided as we gently choose to work authentically from what we know. We also did not want to reinvent the wheel by opening up this service when there are already many different beautiful organisation that work with families across the pregnancy and baby loss spectrum.
Support for Infant Sibling Loss.
If you need support for the loss of a sibling under 12 months, these organisations can help:
First Light: FirstLight provides crisis intervention and free professional counselling services throughout Ireland to bereaved parents and family members who have suddenly lost a child up to 18 years.
Féileacáin: This is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to offer support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after.
A Little Lifetime Foundation: This is the voice for bereaved parents and their families across Ireland, our aim is to promote healthy grieving and bring understanding and hope when a baby dies at any stage of pregnancy, during or after birth.
It is with our open and heartfelt arms that we acknowledge the devastation and heart-breaking loss that you have come to face as a whole family unit.
