Counsellors with whom we work

Jacinta’s Smile has put together a list of qualified counsellors to provide tailored counselling to bereaved siblings across Ireland. These hand-selected counsellors are professionally accredited, highly experienced, and offer a variety of supports including play therapy for younger clients.  Counsellors are able to work with a range of issues that affect bereaved children and young adults (anger, anxiety, self-harm, drug use, suicide ideation, etc.).

All counsellors on the Jacinta’s Smile Sibling Bereavement Database are Garda Vetted, insured, receive supervision, and are certified members of professional counselling bodies such as the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) or the Irish Association for Play Therapy & Psychotherapy (IAPTP).

The counsellors work in a variety of settings. Some have their own private practice whilst others work in tandem with counselling agencies. If you or your child is interested in availing of Jacinta’s Smile counselling services, please let us know the age of the client, and your preference for a counsellor (location, sex, training in particular counselling area, etc.).

How does it work?

Contact Jacinta’s Smile expressing your interest in accessing the services of a counsellor. You will be sent an intake form to complete to help match you with a counsellor. A more detailed needs assessment will be carried out directly by the counsellor once you have been paired.

Jacinta’s Smile will pay for up to six counselling sessions for our clients at a set rate of €60 per session. We will directly pay 50% of the session fee to the counsellor (€30) and the balance (€30) will be paid directly by the client to the counsellor. If the client requires additional counselling sessions, they are encouraged to get in touch with Jacinta’s Smile to discuss their needs.
